Dear Parents and Carers,
Following on from Dr Ankers’ letter I wanted to update you as a parent/carer of a student with SEND. This is a difficult time for everyone, and especially challenging for some young people with SEND. I am really pleased to see that within the Government Guidelines they are recognising that ‘staying at home can be more disruptive to the lives and routines of children with special educational needs and disabilities.’ They have issued further advice and resources to support students with SEND. The link below will take you to this information and includes not only educational resources specifically for SEND students, but also information from The Sensory Project and advice on supporting students with a learning disability or the autistic spectrum.
All of you will have been contacted by either your son/daughter’s tutor, Head of House or key worker, please do encourage your son/daughter to keep in regular contact as they are here to support them. Please do not hesitate to contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions or require any further support.
Please stay safe and well,
Mrs Rachel Vowles
