Letter To Parents & Carers

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope this email finds you well and that you had an enjoyable half term. It has felt much quieter at the college this week without our Year 11 and 13. We are missing them already!

We have this week launched our summer school programme for students in Years 7 – 10. Mrs Conroy is working on putting together a programme of activities for our students involving many of the activities that they have been unable to do during the last 18 months. We have had an overwhelming response to this already so please do complete the expression of interest form if your child would like to attend. This, and further details of this exciting event, can be found on the college website by clicking here.

Whilst we await the announcement next week from the prime minister on the final easing of restrictions put in place due to the pandemic, staff at the college continue to plan for events such as Sports Day, Year 11 Prom, Sixth Form Information Evenings and Year 6 Transition Days. We will communicate next week any changes to these if restrictions continue.

During the challenging times since March 2020, we have been hugely grateful for the ongoing support of our families and the wider Bideford Community. We really do value the feedback we receive. If you would like to have a more active involvement in the development of the college please consider joining our local governing body. Details of a vacancy for a parent governor can be found on our website by clicking here.

Finally, thank you to everyone who continues to support the college COVID-19 testing programme with twice weekly lateral flow tests. Please do not forget to register your test results. We are expecting more testing kits to arrive later today so these will be allocated to students next week.

Best wishes

Dr Ankers
