Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope this email finds you and your families well. It has been an incredibly busy week at the college with the start of the Year 7 48-hour challenge. This week has seen four tutor groups each spending time on Dartmoor taking part in team building activities. Despite the rain they have all come back smiling and it has been lovely to see photos of their adventures . I am looking forward to spending some time with them next week on the moor.
This week we have also opened the college doors to prospective parents. Both during the tours that happened in the day and at last night’s open evening I have received many messages about the positive way our students engaged with adults and presented themselves. They are a credit to us all! I am particularly grateful to the army of students in all year groups who stayed last night to support the staff, thank you! Next week the morning tours continue with more visitors wanting to see our fantastic college in action.
On Thursday and Friday we will be welcoming to the college Andy Mulligan and Dave Cousins who will be undertaking workshops with our students. This is part of the Appledore Book Festival which provides our students with the wonderful opportunity to meet authors in person.
We are now running a full programme of extra-curricular activities at break times and after-school. As well as a range of sporting and musical opportunities, interests such as Lego, anime and geopolitical clubs are happening throughout the week. Please contact your child’s tutor if you require any further information.
