Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you and your families are keeping well.

Despite being some time away, we are starting to think about the forthcoming Festive period. The students attending baking club have started preparing mini Christmas fruit cakes and last week the choir sang at the opening of the Barnstaple Christmas Village. Next week also sees the launch of a number of inter-house competitions, a number of which have a Christmas theme. The choir are performing again tonight, this is at the ‘Strength to Believe’ event at Exeter Cathedral.

The rehearsals for the school production of High School Musical are now building in momentum too with lots of hard work going into ensuring this will be a fantastic experience for everyone. Please see the college Facebook page for details on performances and ticket sales.

The high rates of COVID-19 in Torridge and North Devon, continue to cause concern. In response to this we are still encouraging students to wear facial coverings in communal areas. We would be grateful of your support with this by ensuring your child brings a face mask to college. As I highlighted last week, we monitor carefully the number of students testing positive for Covid-19. We will continue to work closely with the local Health Security Agency team to ensure we are doing everything we can to keep our community safe and healthy during the ongoing pandemic.

Best wishes

Dr Ankers
