Dear Parents and Carers,
You will be aware that the Government is reintroducing a number of measures in January 2022 to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. One of these measures is for schools to facilitate a COVID test at their on-site asymptomatic testing centre before students return to normal lessons, just as was done in September. Following one test in school, students will be asked to test at home 3-4 days later. Home testing kits will continue to be provided.
As the first of these tests needs to be undertaken before students start their lessons, we are asking parents to book a test on Tuesday 4th January 2022 between 9.30am and 4pm.
Appointments for tests can be made through our parents’ evening booking system (https://bidefordcollege.org/parents-evening-online-booking/). Students being tested on the Tuesday will not need to wait for the result. Any student testing positive will be contacted by the college and all results communicated via the NHS results service.
Any student who needs to be tested but cannot test on Tuesday will need to test on Wednesday morning before they can go back to their normal lessons. You will need to use the same booking system and book either an 8.45am or 9am appointment. Students will need to wait for their results before they can attend normal lessons.
If you have any issues about the testing process then please email Mrs Jewell (firstname.lastname@example.org) who will be able to answer any concerns you may have.
If your child has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days, i.e. since 6th October 2021 they are exempt from testing and can return to college as normal on Wednesday 5th January 2022 at 8.45am.
If you have previously consented to testing you do not need to give consent again, unless your contact details have changed. If you would now like to give consent for testing please complete the consent form on our website;-
I would be most grateful if you could book this COVID-19 test as soon as possible. Thank you for your ongoing support in this matter.
I wish you all a safe, healthy and happy Christmas.
